An inside look at musician Gloria Estefan recording her Latin music tribute to album, 90 Millas. The title of Grammy-winner Gloria Estefan's album, 90 Millas, refers to the distance between Cuba and southern Florida, a region that has become synonymous with Latin culture. At the core of that culture is its music, and Gloria's husband Emilio captured the blood, sweat andtears that went into the new record in this very intimate film about the music-making process.
In 2008, Emilio produced and directed his first full-length documentary film, “90 Millas,” based on the pioneers and history of Cuban music. The film received critical accolades after premiering in the Tribecca Film Festival, Dubai Film Festival and the Miami International Film Festival.
As an award winning director, Emilio has directed numerous music videos for some of the world's favorite artists. Starting with his wife, Gloria Estefan and including others like, Shakira, Thalia, Alejandro Fernandez, Cristian Castro and more. He also directed the "Somos El Mundo" music video ("We Are The World" Spanish Version) that helped raise funds for Haiti during the Earthquake.
