Emilio Estefan is the man who defined Latin crossover for the music world. Accruing over 30 GRAMMY nominations and 19 wins, he is a powerhouse producer who has been instrumental in shaping, developing and directing the careers of his superstar wife, Gloria Estefan, Shakira, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Paulina Rubio, Jon Secada, Alejandro Fernandez, Thalia, Carlos Vives, and Jennifer López, among many others. His production prowess is boundless and extends to other facets of the entertainment industry including television—producing The Latin GRAMMYs on CBS, The Hispanic Heritage Awards on NBC and Nuestra Navidad on Univision, high profile musical productions on HBO and Showtime, among countless more hours of riveting television; government— In 2002, President George W. Bush appointed Emilio as a member of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities and he has produced many historical musical events at the White House. In 2009, President Barack Obama tapped him to serve on the committee to create the first National Museum of the American Latino, and just this year, he was tasked by President Biden to produce the opening presentation of The Summit of the Americas; and theater—In 2015, Emilio produced the Broadway masterpiece, On Your Feet! The Musical, a show based on his and Gloria’s life that ran successfully for two years.
